Dr. Nandita Palshetkar
Dr. Nandita Palshetkar is the first born child of renowned educationist, the Honourable Dr. DY. Patil (Present Governor of Bihar) and his wife, Pushpa Patil (who is now a well known writer in her own right), and was born in the year 1963. At the age of 3, her parents shifted to Mumbai, where young Nandita began her education at the Hill Grange High School at Pedder Road. She was bright and smart and was a consistent A Grade student who excelled in both curricular as well as extracurricular activities.
She developed an early interest in dance, Radio, and took a keen interest in athletics. She won the best athlete award for her performance in her 10th standard. After her schooling she joined Sophia College and stood first in academics in 12th standard. By this time she had already developed an interest in medicine and after college, she joined Sir JJ Hospital to qualify as a Doctor. After her MBBS, she went on to do her MD in Gynecology at JJ Hospital. She later went on to train at the Famed Belgium gent, Alpha School of embryology in Naples. It was during her medical studies that she met her future husband Pardip, who was a diamond merchant by trade. She married during her internship and continued her Post Graduate studies after marriage. She was well supported by her spouse as well as her own and her new family. She herself became a mother in the year 1988, and her son Rohan following her footsteps qualified in OB Gyn. Rohan is married to Karishma, who is training to be a general surgeon.
She was from a young age inspired by her father, who advised her that a pursuit of passion was one that brings about natural enthusiasm for excellence and achievements. There is no feeling of tiredness when you follow your passion. Her life is in fact a text book case study of the transformative power of a pursuit of passion.
Dr. Nandita Palshetkar is one of the pioneers in infertility and Assistive Reproductive Technologies in India and has been instrumental in helping over 25,000 aspiring parents to have a baby of their own. Dr. Nandita Palshetkar began the Bloom IVF Clinic in 1994 with her team. The clinic is a ray of light in the lives of thousands of childless couples who seek ART to achieve their cherished dream of becoming parents.
Bloom is the largest singly doctor owned, stand alone IVF group in the country running 7 full fledged IVF units in Mumbai, New Delhi and Chandigarh. All this is managed by a large team of doctors, embryologists, nurses and managers. The Group is rated as one of the best IVF clinics in India and the best IVF/ICSI clinic in Mumbai and was awarded the best IVF company by Frost and Sullivan in 2013 during their annual awards. It has maintained a sustained success rate of over 35-45% per started cycle in women 35 years of age.

Dr. Nandita Palshetkar is more than a Doctor of Infertility. Through her tireless efforts she has spoken, publicized and increased the level of awareness about infertility in forums both in Indian and across the world. She is a popular speaker at Medical Conferences national and international and has presented innumerable papers and presentations on her specialization.
Though running the Bloom Clinics continues to be her prime passion, she is also associated with several reputable hospitals and other institutions.
Her career has been rewarding both for her as well as her patients and the medical fraternity. Her excellence and passionate pursuit has won her innumerable awards and recognitions.
Dr. Nandita Palshetkar is a multi dimensional personality with involvements that span the fields of education ( she was associated with JJ Hospital, DY Patil Medical College, K Bhabha Muncipal and General Hospital, as Senior Resident and Professor)
She is a public spirited citizen and has undertaken numerous public service initiatives including Free Infertility Camps, Adolescent School health programmes, Cancer awareness workshops, etc.
She has extensive research experience and has executed research on topics like - Chorion Villous sampling–A study of 30 cases conducted at J.J. Hospital, Role of Ultrasound in the diagnosis of First Trimester Bleeding, Ovarian Aging & Infertility, Metformin in pregnancy, and Minihysteroscopy She has conducted innumerable Public Awareness Programs speaking on topics ranging from Women's health to Surrogacy. She has several Professional Affiliations and was the Senior Vice President at FOGSI 2011. She is also affiliated to several organisations (over 30 organisations in all). She is a Trustee of DY Patil Institutes in various disciplines and Ramrao Adik Education Society etc.
Dr. Nandita Palshetkar has been instrumental in helping over 25,000 Indian and international couples to have children and become parents. Asked about her feeling when she enables infertile parents to have their first child she says – “The first cry of a baby is the beginning of a life time of joy for the parents.
